Initio Decants

Initio built its reputation on two things: performance that borders on antisocial, and Side Effect — the rum-tobacco-vanilla scent that fragrance people describe with a knowing look. These are €200+ bottles that you absolutely should not blind-buy, because when Initio doesn't suit you, it doesn't suit you loudly and for twelve hours.

Both of ours are hand-decanted in Finland from authentic bottles: Side Effect (the sweet, boozy signature) and Paragon (the fresher, more aromatic side of the house). Labelled 2ml, 5ml and 10ml sprays.

Know before you spray

Is Side Effect a daily scent?

No — and it isn't trying to be. It's an evening and cold-weather statement. Two sprays maximum. The 2ml decant is about 15 wears at that dose, which is plenty to know if it's your statement.

What's Paragon like next to it?

Much fresher — aromatic and easier to wear in daylight. If Side Effect is the leather jacket, Paragon is the well-cut overshirt.

Are these genuine Initio?
